Anfield, Merseyside
FA Cup fourth round
Saturday January 28, 12:45
Tickets
United have got 5,174 tickets in the Anfield Road end lower tier behind the goal.
They cost £49 for adults, £36 for over 65s and £15 for under 16s.
The application deadline has passed and all tickets have been sold.
The Anfield Road ends holds 6,391 seats.
Liverpool City Council’s ground safety advisory group ordered Liverpool to remove two seats from each end of all blocks.
There are 35 rows in the stand, so that’s 980 seats.
A few others seats have been removed so mesh can be placed over seats to segregate home and away fans close to the Centenery Stand.
The advisory group have insisted they will be monitoring fans’ behaviour in the away end to determine what United’s allocation will be in the Premier League at Anfield next season.
Standing is not an issue, but we would ask all fans to keep the gangways clear for the good of our club and your fellow reds.

Pubs
It probably goes without saying that you won’t get in anywhere with colours. But if you’re subtle, you can grab a pre-match pint at the following.
The Head of Steam, (pictured right) at 7 Lime Street (next door to the train station) is owned by a firm of the same name that runs eight pubs across the country.
Run by Rob McNeil, this pub is the largest one in Liverpool and is decorated with railway memorabilia.
It used to be the London and Northwest Railway’s best hotel and is now a Grade 2 listed building.
It’s a proper drinker’s pub, with four bars selling seven real ales at any one time. It also sells Stella Artois, San Miguel, Grolsch, Carling and even Timmermans Strawberry Beer.
The only drawback is it doesn’t open until noon on Saturdays, but there’s a taxi rank outside to get you up to the ground in 10
minutes.
Further up Lime Street, at number 43, is the Crown pub (pictured left)
The cheapest pint it offers is Marstons EPA for £1.69.
Thought to have opened in 1859, it’s a traditional pub which spoils itself with the number of food ads in the windows.
But you won’t get any mither from locals in here as long as you don’t act up.
It opens at noon and, again, has a taxi rank outside.
Coopers in Lime Street Station is also alright. Go up the stairs just to the side of Burger King. It’s pricey but quiet.
Next to the station taxi rank is another quiet pub called MA Egertons on Pudsey Street.
Or across the road from the station on Great Charlotte Street, is a decent Wetherspoons pub called the Richard John Blackler.
And not too far away in St John’s Square is Doctor Duncans, a pretty big pub with a decent range of beer on tap and a relaxed atmosphere.

The Champions Sports coaches leave at 10.45am.
vitty i thought the allocation was more than that in the end.
I always park on the street at Utting Ave but does anyone know any secure car parks at that side of the ground as with a mate who is worried about car (rightly!)!
Kev official site said 5,265, also heard 5,319, like to think a cup allocation will create a top atmosphere as our support at Anfield is usually pretty poor vocally compared to most other aways.
Expect champion sports will be in high demand due to price and thomas cook onto their 5th coach.
Oli, no where is secure in that neck of the woods.
Champion Sports have 3 coaches, 2 of them are double deckers. I saw Tony on friday and they are filling pretty rapidly.
Does anyone know if there are any specific trains that will be met by police from Manchester at Lime St and then be given an escort to the ground? I remember this happening in previous years, especially in the cup, wondering if there are similar plans to avoid hassle??
have paid to park in the stanley park car park before which is stewarded.
fred, go via crewe to avoid the hassle thats what i always do never had a problem in the last 4-5 seasons.
Scott, I’ve done that for Goodison but didn’t think was possible to park there for a field….?
Anfield I mean!
I had a couple of pints in the weatherspoons just dwn d road frm lime st station last time we wer at anfield.more liverpool supporters in der which wud b expected but their were a few united supporters knockin about in there aswell but is there anywhere specific united fans r going this time?
i was wondering the same jordon. Anyone got an idea of where united fans will be heading before the game and what time train most people be getting? Theres 5000 of us going so we should pack out the pubs around lime street.
Does anybody know if beer will be served in the away end or not??
Chucky,
i cant imagine it been sold inside the ground mate but theres a few kiosks outside selling carlsberg thats were i went for a beer just before kick off last time.
You can park in the Stanley Park car park. It’s usually £8 when Everton play but £10 when Liverpool play. Can be quite hard to get out though.
Cheers Jordan. I wasn’t expectin it to be but they did at City so wasn’t sure. My thoughts were to skip the pint in the pub on arrival and head for the ground if so bt looks like may hav to find a pub. Not sure where our coach we’ll be dropping us off tho yet.
Beer was being sold in the away end before the league game earlier in the season. It was extremely watered down Carlsberg but it was being served with no issues whatsoever. Maybe different Saturday
Beer is apparently set to be served within stadium on Saturday.
anyone’s tickets arrive today?
Rob, no not yet.
Apparently our coach will be dropping off at Stanley Park. Anyone know where the closest pub is from there?
Oh, and what are the prices like inside Anfield?
My ticket didn’t arrive today either.
Cheers for that Ian.
Rob,
We got a phonecall today saying we’d have to collect our tickets from ot because wer in ireland so we wouldnt get them by sat if they sent them by post so id imagine everyines tickets(within the uk) are on there way to them.thank god we have someone to pick ours up,could have been very awkward otherwise haha
What is the likely hood of getting a return ticket for this
Nick,
Spoke to the TO today as im desperate for a ticket too and they are only doing outbound calls. So i’d say not very likely.
nick i got a return ticket off utd this morning buzzing was looking at paying £120 of a tout didn’t want to miss this one, how long will we be kept in after the game 30min or so?
The tickets were posted out yesterday first class.
Not nineteen forever, did utd phone you? or did you phone them?
Good one, Presume they rang you, didn’t hear of anyone getting a Arsenal Return, about 30mins is the norm, they make announcements while kept in so not a set time. And likely police escort after game for anyone going to lime street, but that’s not always the case.
nick, i phoned them at 9am this morning said they had none, ask the lad in the TO if they got any could he give us a call didn’t think he would get back to me but got a call at 9.30, picked it up at lunch time,
I have just phoned up the lad said they have not got any and if they did have some they would not sell them to an inbound call anyway
will you need id to get in? my first away game, buzzing!
must depend on who you speak to nick, same thing happened to me when i tried to get a newcastle return cause i got chubbed, said they don’t give them to inbound calls but i know a few lads who got returns for newcastle ringing up the ticket office,i’ve had a season ticket for 11 years only had about 10 league aways and few cups aways in the ballot,i’ve had quite a few returns from the ticket office in the past just keep phoning mate you never know
Does anyone know if they’re selling alcohol in the away end?
Matt,
Im not sure if there selling alcohol inside d ground to united fans but they have carlsberg kiosks down at the anfield road en,id imagine it will be the same as the league game that alcohol wont b served inside the ground, hopefully im wrong pal
no you wont need ID. Is anyone going on the train from manchester? what time you looking at getting the train and where you drinking when you get there?
The reason why I haven’t received my ticket yet is because the knob-heads have sent it to the wrong address… I’m fuming!! :@
thanks beacause i lost my id! what sort of time is everyone planning to enter the ground? dont want to be sitting in the dump on my own!! hah
Anyone know how/why this company got tickets in the away end???
http://champions-travel.com/products/501-liverpool-vs-manchester-united.aspx
Damien, this was addressed on a prevoius thread a couple of weeks ago. They aren’t allowed to sell away end tickets, a complaint was put in, they got a warning from the FA and then for a while said they weren’t selling away end tickets, which was also the case if you tried to select them on their website.
Now it appears they are selling them again, according to their website.
Damien, the centenary stand isn’t away section, they had away tickets until reported to the FA, champion travel selling packages for all United homes games but none away. Celtic Horizons once again have packages in away end at Wigan in april.
Paul, they appear to have tickets in both ends, and are just saying the home ones are in Centenary. They removed this from their website but now the option to select the away end has returned. I have asked Vitty to renotify FA as the police can now prosecute having already warned them. I will also notify United.
Will us unlucky ticketless reds be allowed to get close to the away end before the game waiting for spares like we do at most grounds or are the police likely to have some kind of block in place?
Police have urged ticket less fans not to turn up that they won’t get in ground, but no mention of any checks/barriers etc.
Champion Sports coaches now Full
Anyone know roughly what touts will be charging on the day?
Anyone know how easy it’ll be to get a taxi afterwards from the ground to the station?
I wanted to get on a coach but found out about my tickets too late and they’re all full now. Don’t really want to walking around there by myself being a woman and all!
Or if anyone’s driving from Manc, I can possibly sort you a fv ticket.
Pob. We are driving from Manc. Need a brief as well!
