By ferry
It really isn’t worth it.
First, you’ve got to get to Birkenhead.
Second, it takes eight hours each way.
Third, it often involves an overnight journey, and a bed costs £70 extra, so you could
be paying £250 return.
Much better to fly.

George Best grave
Barbara McNarry, George Bests sister is organising a three-hour tour on the morning after the game, with places costing £10 per person, with proceeds going to the George Best Foundation.
Starting at Belfast City Centre at 09:30, it calls at Sydenham East Belfast (wall Mural), Nettlefield Primary School, where George studied, his family home on the Cregagh Estate, Stormont and Roselawn Cemetery.
Email stretfordendflags@hotmail.com to reserve places.
A few years ago, Reds Away put together an in-depth guide to visiting George’s grave.
This tells you how to get there.
This tells you how to find the grave when you are there.

Anyone who is interested in doing a George Best tour, then its possible that the George Best Foundation may be running a tour bus. If interested put your name on here, so numbers can be gaged or send me a tweet on twitter @tuftymufc
Will either be the afternoon of the game, the following morning or both depending on demand.
Will take in the murals, George Best grave, family home and a few other areas of interest.
does anyone know where united are playing preseason?
Nick, Far East, but dates and venues not announced yet, many rumours but nothing official, Best tour good idea if priced reasonable, his grave well worth a visit, made easier to visit it as midweek.
I recommend getting a black taxi cab tour were you can get a tour and a personnal account of their experiences with the troubles etc. The Titanic building has also just opened up on the site where the ship was actually built but you’ll have to pre-book your tickets. As already mentioned George Best’s grave at Roselawn, and also you can visit his house (Burren Way) and the Cregagh Estate were he grew up. Tons more stuff to do, hope everyone has a great time visiting, and enjoys what we have to offer.
Can any of our Belfast fans help?
will reds be welcome in all city centre pubs,if not where to avoid?
You wouldnt get any bother anywhere in City Centre or ares towards the ground. The only problem is everywhere will be pretty quiet on a Tuesday. The Botanic Inn (The Bot) on the Malone Road is a good pub that caters for all ages, it is about five- ten minute walk from the ground.
nice one garret, really looking forward to it hopefully we will have our 20th title on display
Any news on the tour yet Tufty?
Tour info now added to the article above.
More tickets have now gone on sale via ticketmaster, as they have put in temporary seating to meet the demand.
Big thanks to Tufty for organising the George Best tour with Barbara. It was just fantastic. A great couple of days as well.
