The club have said the match is part of the reds’ preparations for the 2012/13 season, indicating that Sir Alex Ferguson will put out a full-strength side.
It will take place at the 25,527-capacity Ullevall Stadium, which is three miles north of Oslo city centre.
United’s chief executive David Gill said: “We have fantastic fans in Norway – the Scandanavian Supporters’ Club (MUSSC) is our biggest anywhere in the world with over 40,000 members.
“It’s great to have the chance to play in front of them again.”
United have been allocated 13 blocks in the upper and lower tier of the Benfit Stand, which is behind the goal.
That should be about 5,000 seats.
Tickets in that end will cost £74.10 including booking fees.
Tickets for the other three stands will go on sale to Valerenge season ticket holders on May 21. They will be able to buy six each, but only in person from the club shop.
They will then go on general sale via the link above from May 23 and will cost £74.10 in the stand facing the United end from £84.70 to £95.41 for seats on the halfway line.

Looking at the banner for the 2012 tour with a picture of Park – suggests the Far East is a definite as well. May also be a game in South Africa as well.
Si, Far East and South Africa both being finalised now.
There is also this legends game against Real Madrid on the 3rd June, there will be a return match next June at Old Trafford as well.
Not sure if anyone is doing anything for the game out in Madrid?
I guess there may be a decent squad in Norway. Far East will be a waste of time. All that way to watch Macheda? No thanks. I think I will wait for next summers pre season tour this time round.
I honestly didn’t think there’d be a South Africa/Asia tour/game due to other squad involvement.
I won’t be going to any of it and probably won’t even watch them.
I’m tempted by Oslo though.
had heard rumours of an asia but not south africa, not sure what places in asia tho, what cities in south africa will they be going to?
Any date for stockport yet vitty?
Kev – Not that I know of, but I’ve emailed Stockport’s press office to ask.
Will the TO set aside some tickets for us against valerenga or will it be just down to Thomas cook.?
Tony – I’ve included ticket sales info in the article above now. No way am I paying those prices.
Asia – def South Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong, one or two others still being negotiated
South Africa – def Jo’burg, discussion about one more too
Norway was always planned but looked like being Ole’s Molde – not sure what happened there and why it changed.
Was tempted when I saw cheap flights available but I’m not paying £75 for a ticket to a fucking friendly
Had a feeling that the ticket price would be high. But then again it is Norway. Better work more Sundays from now until then for beer tokens.!!
Sorry, but that’s ridiculous.
Si – I agree. And the sad thing is, the Scandanavians will pack that stand out and think it’s the best thing in the world.
I couldn’t think of anything worse than paying so much for a friendly.
It’ll be like sitting in Scoreboard upper.
Twenty quid for the legend Harry Greggs testimonial or 75 quid for a meaningless friendly. Puts it in perspective.
I really can’t see how they can do a proper pre season tour without any players who are at the Euros or the Olympics. They will be struggling to field a senior team.
I fancy this one. The ticket prices are outrageous but as I said at the time of the Bilbao game, it’s a small percentage of the overall trip, so will probably just stump up the cash albeit begrudgingly!!
The fact it’s a weekend tempts me, only going to need the Fri/Monday off work.
The saddest thing about this friendly is the ticket prices. Having said that i went to Olso a few years ago for the Scotland- Norway game. A great time was had, but at a average of 12-18 quid for a pint it was more of a street party!
I agree with previous comment, Greggs testimonial is chalk and cheese with this.
I can surely agree with Vitty, not a hope i’ll be paying the 70 odd quid for it, nor will i be heading to Asia or South Africa to see the players on holiday….
Out of interest, has anyone been to Oslo? What we looking at for prices of beer, and to a lesser extent meals?
I can see Robscot says £12-£18 a pint. I knew it was expensive but realise it was quite that bad?!
It’s not sad Vitty, of course as a one off cost and compared to the vast amounts they spend on trips to the UK, it is not an excessive cost. Plus it is all relative, Scandinavia is expensive generally rather than being chjeap and just a football ticket being pricey.
I have always loved our Scandinavian support, and to stereotype more so than other nationalities. So many of them on every euro away and on trips to the UK. Some even on this forum.
Went in 2002, we won, think 2-1, back then it was £4 a pint, surely not gone as high as £18 a pint, Nearly everything was dear, think its right the club have chosen to go back, always thought it short sighted to neglect the Scandinavians for so long just to chase appearance fees in South Africa,
Don’t see the point of sending players to South africa for just one game
Re Far East, recently seen Beijing and Shanghai mentioned, could be counter productive if most regular “stars” won’t be available, negative reaction from US fans to the 2004 US tour with so few “stars making appearances after the greatly successful 2003 tour. I know Far east fans are more dedicated/enthusiastic towards the club thou.
Will do Africa and Norway, will give Asia a miss.
The club championship out there was the greatest trip I have EVER done, what a time away that was!! Back for Stoke away on boxing day.
Will pay the £75 match fee as I have used air miles and basically just paid taxes.
Looking forward to a summer away already, personally quite glad for a break from football sometimes.
I’ll be at womens’ beach volleyball at the Olympics that night!
A norweigan fan at United Nights last sat, said it was £9 a pint in Norway.
A trip is being organised for anyone going to Belfast. This will be a George Best Tour, taking in Georges old house, school, his grave and some of the famous Belfast murals and sites. It is likely to leave the City centre at around 10:30am on the Wednesday and last around 2 hours. Cost will be about £8-£10.
It has been organised be Georges sister Barbara and some of the money will go to The George Best Foundation. Barbara has also arranged for the tour party to actually go inside the Best family home (Something you couldnt do if going on your own). If anyone is interested in this, can they email stretfordendflags@hotmail.com with how many places you would need (Stretford End Flags havent organised this tour, its just an email address to use).
Oli – ‘Sad’ is probably a bit too strong. I couldn’t justify paying that fee to watch a friendly match though. I understand why locals would, especially given the pay they get in Norway.
It’s probably the same as what Galati fans thought when they saw our the prices for the match at OT.
Just thought I’d point out that the name of the Scandi supp. club is MUSCSB – Man United Supporters Club Scandinavian Branch.
As a finnish member of it I’ll deffo do Oslo and considering asia/africa aswell. Will depend on dates of the games
And I agree that the ticket price is a joke!
Might drop you an email about the GB tour in Belfast next week Tufty.
Any Sunderland Guide mate?
Yes, Armani – it’ll be up today
Thanks Vitty.
….also heard rumour brisbane, gold coast,oz might be pre season.
def doing far east or south africa, cant do both.
crikey brisbane would be good but would have thought they announce that one a bit sooner, especially if they have half a 1st team
A month ago Oz had been fully ruled out due to concerns about player behaviour after last visit there!
When was the last visit to Oz? Must be going back some years?? I know they did a tour to Oz and Indonesia in the 70’s. And people think it’s a recent thing we’ve become a global brand?!
1999 oz/china tour, is the delay this summer all down to the potential disruption caused by the olympics? Can’t remember pre season being not finalised at this late stage, can understand the financial aspect of mufc wanting to go Far East/south Africa, but meaning still not arranged and many “stars” will be unavailable maybe they’d be better of with 2 Old trafford friendlies instead, albeit no doubt many regulars wouldn’t attend.
Paul, United outsource organisation of the tours to local agencies who pay a flat fee to then put on the events. It is totally in the hands of those companies on what timescales they feel they need to arrange/ announce matches in order to sell tickets and TV rights.
Regardless of what ’stars’ travel on these tours they still have the strong brand attraction of Manchester United visiting. They get Fergie, Scholes, Giggs, Hernandez as a start too. Possibly Vidic depending on progress. And regardless of what the squad going looks like, they are also able to undertake all the community/ charity work, plus also the work with sponsors/ commercial partners.
May also have no community shield to rush back for now too!
The prizes are mad, but will probably still go. So no tickets will go on sale through United?
Cos I don’t wanna end up in the home end, and with buying tickets through a Norwegian site, that might just be possible.
I don’t remember the 1999 tour to Oz. Must have passed me by, somehow!
Did send ticket office an email asking if they we’re getting any tickets. Helpful as ever. They haven’t got a clue.
Si, there is no reason they’d know now. These events are put on by the home team, United can request an allocation, but it won’t be part of the contract and wouldn’t be arranged yet. Is not like it is a league regulated game with rules governing away allocations.
I know Oli. I just thought they may have known if they will get any tickets. Hope they know before they go on general sale.
Si, in many cases in pre season the club don’t take a set allocation, more along the lines of if enough request them then they’ll sort them tickets, anyway the 5,000 going on sale on the 22/23 will be for mufc fans.
Oli, Doubtful Community shield participation or not changes things a great deal as could just play a home friendly that weekend as with other years, can’t see them doing Far east/SA only week before PL starts.
understand the attraction of Mufc regardless of which players travel. But I went to US 04 tour and their was a sense of great disappointment from US crowds with our line ups. Esp given the expensive tickets, great trip thou. That was the 1st long distance tour I could remember them doing in a tournament year.
Paul, I agree with you re 2004 tour. But USA consumers have a very different attitude to Asian fans generally. I’ve found Asian and American tours very different in that respect.
Heard yesterday that maybe a announcement today about pre season, also a article on Vidic comeback once again said China and south Africa most likely.
i suppose they might try to fit another game in now as we have no charity shield
Sir Alex said SA/China. Blinky, yes expect they will arrange a game for that weekend, my guess is a home game or at least euro based game, would be very surprised if far away game only a week before PL, that would be a dreadful preparation.
hopefully it will be sorted out this week!
Any chance on getting on the George Best tour, I know it’s late but worth a try
