Car – £65
There are three recommended routes
Route 1 – 3 hours – 154 miles

Take the M62 east to J32A then join the A1 southbound.
After 90 minutes, turn left at the roundabout onto the A47 and then turn right onto the A1260 and, finally, turn left onto the A605, which will take you to the stadium.
Route 2 – 3 hours 6 minutes – 132 miles
Take the M60 to J24 and go through Hyde and over the Pennines until you reach the M1.
Leave the M1 at J31 and turn left onto the A57 which will lead you onto the A1.
Turn left at the roundabout onto the A47 and then turn right onto the A1260 and, finally, turn left onto the A605, which will take you to the stadium.
Route 3 – 3 hours and 9 minutes – 127 miles
Take the A6 south through Stockport, Hazel Grove, Chapel-en-le-Frith and through the Peak District and Chesterfield and Mansfield.
Join the A1 at Newark-on-Trent.
Turn left at the roundabout onto the A47 and then turn right onto the A1260 and, finally, turn left onto the A605, which will take you to the stadium.
Parking – free
The stadium is currently being developed so there is no public parking at the stadium.
The Pleasure Fair Meadow car park (PE2 9PB) opposite the stadium has 396 places and it costs £2.30 for up to two hours, £3.30 for up to three hours, £4.40 for up to four hours and £5.50 for up to 10 hours or £1.50 between 17:00 and 07:00.
Most streets nearby have parking restrictions, but if you’e willing to walk 10 minutes, you could park around Orchard Street area (PE2 9AL)
Train – £42.50
The nearest station to the stadium is Peterborough, which is 1.1 miles away.
Manchester Piccadilly to Peterborough
If you buy a return on the day, it will cost £90.50. If you buy now, it will cost £42.50.

To the stadium
On foot (22 minutes)
Walk out of the station and you will see a multi-storey car park opposite you.
Turn right and walk over the junction and keep walking until you reach the roundabout.
Turn right and walk past Asda and over the river and over the railway bridge and take the next left into the stadium.
By bus (20 minutes including walking)
From the station, walk out on the A15 and cross the road using the footbridge. Keep walking and you’ll come to the bus station.

You can take either the 3, 6, 7 – all Stagecoach buses – or the 407 – an Enterprise Peterborough bus.
With the match finishing at roughly 21:30, you can take the 6 bus from London Road Drill Hall at 22:21 and arrive at 22:27 or the 7 from the same stop at 21:44, 22:04 and 22:24.
All these buses will get you back to the bus station in time for the 22:46 train, though it is safety to book a taxi. Here are the timetables.

Matchday coach
Reds wishing to get to Peterborough and back can hop on board a minibus provided by a fellow red.
Peter Bolton is laying on the 14-seater bus, which will leave the Sale/Altrincham area early on Friday August 10 and return start after the end of the game.
Cost depends on the number of passengers and departure time and location will be given on request.

Booked a one way train ticket for £16 leaving at 14:20 and then staying overnight in Peterborough Central Travelodge. Fortunately I’m getting a lift home the following morning!

Anyone heard of anymore united x1 games I’m going to this one but fancy another one aswell is there any this weekend? There was loads last year.
I thought there was going to be a game against stockport but all I have seen is this,aberdeen and forest green.
Kev, Reserves are in Ireland this week playing tonight v longford and cork on wednesday, Warren Joyce did say it would maybe be difficult to arrange games, can’t see stockport happening, they’ve got a busy schedule, Aberdeen was good 4 years ago, but doubt many will go up midweek, anyone know any reds going? £15 adults, don’t know price of Forest Green
