Latest – Donetsk travel options

Eager to go on your first Euro away of the season? It’s not too late to book for Shakhtar Donetsk.

Ticket applications close next Wednesday and you’re virtually guaranteed of getting one if you have a One United membership, season ticket or executive membership.

Here are five options.

Option 1 – Manchester to Donetsk direct – £439

Flying with Thomas Cook Sport, you will leave Manchester Airport early on the day of the match and arrive in Donetsk around noon or in the early afternoon (you will lose two hours in the time difference).

A coach will then take you into the city where you can collect your tickets and enjoy the match.

Afterwards, a coach will take you back to the airport, where you fly back to Manchester (you will gain two hours on the way back).

You will get a match ticket (face value £7) but it is not included in the package price.

Option 2 – Manchester to Donetsk direct – £525

As above, but with VIP check in at both airports, access to an executive lounge at the airports and inflight refreshments and snacks.

In Donetsk, you’ll get a three-course lunch including alcohol.

You will get a match ticket in the ‘VIP’ area (though, in reality, this will not be near the away end and you probably be among the home fans).

The face value of the ticket is £16, but it is not included in the package price.

  • Bryan

So glad I booked my trip an hour after the fixtures were released. It’s saved me about £200-300!

  • Matt71

£7 and £16 tickets bloody superb for once!

  • Alex

Hi, I am from Donetsk, Ukraine.
I would like to find some fans from the UK who are traveling to Donetsk. Together with my friends we are about to organise a friendly football game (5×5 or 11×11). We have different skilled players aged 25-50. Also if you are interested, we can show you the city and some nice local pubs.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me here or by the email – kutyaplik “at” gmail . com

Worth noting for option 5, its Liverpool to Warsaw modlin rather than Chopin as liv-chopin flights end sept 28th, you can apparently get between airports via train, also if able/willing to stay Donetsk until the Saturday then 7.10-11.25 Donetsk-Gatwick via Kiev is around £70, also better for advance trains on Saturday.

  • vitty

Kev – sorry to correct you, but the situation is that Modlin is closed indefinitely due to a structural problem in the terminal, so Chopin is taking all its flights.

  • John

Alex – I would be up for having a game, I fly in on Wed 2nd in the morning. I’ve sent you a mail..

  • Kev

To highlight 2 things Vitty, 1. News article dated sept 10 on Ryanair.com that says about move back to Modlin on Sept 30 following runway repairs and commercial deal. 2. No availability to Chopin from with Ryanair from 30th but availability to modlin seemingly using the the same schedule.

  • Bavshvi

Is it already known where Ticket collection point will be in Donetsk?

I’m not a UK based RED and I doubt that this information will reach me on time, if sent (last year I didn’t get any post regarding Istanbul game tickets). So will much appreciate if anyone can post the details of where should be tickets collected.

    Thanks in advance.

    kind Regards,
    Bavshvi

  • Schoey snr

Bavshvi, my voucher just arrived, ticket collection is at Shakhtar’s ticket office at the stadium itself. Ticket office looks to be on the south side.
