For those still yet to book you can fly from Manchester to Bremen on Ryanair on the 26th (coming back on the 28th) for £30. Train from Bremen to Köln is £49 (58 Euros) return. For an extra twenty Euros you can get first class train on DB Bahn, if you so desire.
